How Jason Kelce Lost Major Cash Because of Super Bowl LIX
Jason Kelce revealed on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast that he nearly lost everything at Super Bowl LIX.
While Jason’s brother, Travis Kelce, along with the Kanas City Chiefs, suffered a fairly miserable 40–22 loss to Philadelphia, the former Eagles center claims he suffered an even less dignified defeat. “I went to a New Heights party. I went to a [Chris] Stapleton concert. Outside of that, I just lost all my money at the casino,” Jason told his brother of his Super Bowl festivities.
When Travis pressed his brother for more details about the shocking claim, Jason explained his reasoning. “Casino’s right next door [to the hotel], and because I won so much money last year at [the] Las Vegas [Super Bowl], I thought, ‘You know, hey, we’ll just keep this rolling, this will be great.’”

But things didn’t turn out as well as they did in 2024. “Yup, didn’t work this time,” Jason flatly admitted. “It’s back to why I don’t normally go to the casino. It’s just like handing them money.”
According to Jason, things took a turn once he sat down to play craps with a far more skilled gambler seated near him. “This f--king dude is sitting down playing the ‘don’t pass’ line, killing it, just killing it,” he marveled. “I want to kill this guy so bad.”
Jason then tried to pacify Travis, telling him that his gambling loss was far more humiliating than any Super Bowl defeat. “To be honest, [the craps table] was a bigger bloodbath than the game was. I know you’re frustrated with the Eagles-Chiefs game. The craps table with Jason Kelce versus this guy was even more embarrassing.”
“I don’t know if it can get any more embarrassing than that,” Travis said of his brother’s misfortune, failing to mention that unlike his defeat, it was not witnessed by millions of onlookers.
But presumably, Jason can afford to take the financial hit. The former NFL All-Pro signed a three-year, $24 million contract with ESPN, where he’s served as a game commentator since last year. That’s on top of the reported $82 million Jason earned while playing for the Eagles. As Travis weighs his own retirement options, might we find both Kelces at the craps table next February?
