Taylor Swift Just Presented Beyoncé With a Historic First Grammy Win

At the 67 Annual Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift presented an award that just made history. In the Grammy category of Best Country Album, Swift announced that Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter was the winner. As an R&B and hip-hop artist known for groundbreaking music outside of country music, Beyoncé's win is historic. And, as The Hollywood Reporter pointed out, she just became "the first Black woman to win a country Grammy in 50 years."

While accepting her award, Beyoncé said she felt supported by other country artists and the music world at large. "Genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists," she said while accepting the award in a short, and heartfelt speech.

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter features several stand-out singles, including "Texas Hold 'Em, "16 Carriages," and "II Most Wanted," the latter of which features a duet with Miley Cyrus.

Cowboy Carter also sports a brilliant cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene," as well as a collaboration between Beyoncé and Parton on the song "Dolly P."

If there are any country music haters out there who still haven't accepted that Beyoncé's massive album isn't legit, this moment should convince you otherwise. Cowboy Carter was one of the best albums of 2024, and Beyoncé's victory lap is well-earned.
