Is Apple's Weather App Down?
Internet outages aren't rare and seemingly every month there's a major outages to causes users to lose access to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Instagram or Facebook.
Outages are rare, though, for Apple. However, there appears to be a significant outage for one Apple app, though it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what's going wrong.
Apple's Weather App Acting Up
Mashable posted a report that revealed multiple "Mashable editors in the United States were unable to access the app; however, one of our editors was able to access it, though it took about 10 seconds to load."
One Men's Journal writer was able to access the weather app after it buffered for at least 15 seconds.
DownDetector, the platform where users can report errors with popular websites and apps, does not have a page for the Weather app. However, it does show sudden spikes in both The Weather Channel app and Apple Support.
Apple Hasn't Commented on the Issue
Apple has not issued a statement on the issue and its system status page shows the weather app as "available" despite the issues noted by many on social media.
The Weather Channel has also not commented on its outage spike.
UPDATE: Apple finally recorded the outage of its weather app, revealing the issue first started at 11:36 a.m.
"Some users are effected," it's message read while revealing, "This service may be slow or unavailable."
