Apple TV's 'Shrinking' Lands Fan Favorite Marvel Actress for Season 4

Shrinking is getting a superhero.

The beloved Apple TV comedy drama featuring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford was renewed for a fourth season earlier this year ahead of the Season 3 premiere.

Just a few months later, casting has already begun for Season 4 and Karen Gillan will be joining the cast of Segel, Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley, according to a report from Variety.

Karen Gillan Burst Onto the Scene in 'Doctor Who'

Gillan's breakout role came in Doctor Who, but she has also starred in shows like Selfie and Douglas Is Cancelled.

She is now is best known for her films roles, including playing Nebula in the three Guardians of the Galaxy films and the Marvel Cinematic Universe at large. She has also played Martha/Ruby Roundhouse in two of the rebooted Jumanji films to date, with a third film in that franchise set to release this Christmas.

'Shrinking' Continues to Deliver Casting Home Runs

Gillan is the latest to join the series after the series added Cobie Smulders and Brett Goldstein in Season 2 along with Michael J. Fox and Jeff Daniels in Season 3.

Details regarding her character were not immediately known.

The show has received nine Emmy Award nominations to date, including multiple acting nods for both Segel and Williams and a nom for outstanding comedy series in 2025.

The show was an instant critical success with a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes in Season 1. It only got better in Season 2 when the show received a 97% before a slight step back at 91% in Season 3.
