Nordstrom Rack has become one of the better places to find Birkenstock deals, with several styles from slides to boots sitting well below their typical retail prices. The brand rarely discounts through its own channels, making the Rack one of the few reliable spots to get into a pair of Birks without paying full price. The latest find is the Shinjuku—a cool-looking three-stap sandal—which is almost 60% off.

The Birkenstock Shinjuku Sandals normally cost $230, but this Nordstrom Rack sale brings the price down to $97, thanks to a 57% discount. Only the white colorway is on sale, but all sizes from 8/8.5 to 12/12.5 are available.

The Shinjuku is a departure from Birkenstock’s usual two-strap or moccasin-inspired silhouette, opting for a three-strap design and a lugged PU outsole that’s made for more active use. They still have the same cork-latex footbed that makes every pair of Birks worth wearing, with a microfiber lining that wicks moisture in a way the brand’s usual suede lining doesn’t.

I like to compare this sandal to the Milano, the brand’s other adventure-ready three-strap sandal that retails for $140. The Shinjuku takes the same adjustability-first approach and builds on it with sport-influenced hardware and a more durable outsole. This sale price puts it below the Milano while bringing a more technical feature set.

Named after one of Tokyo’s most iconic neighborhoods, the Shinjuku is Birkenstock’s nod to urban culture and city walking that traditional sandals weren’t made for. It’s a relatively new addition to the Birk lineup (dropped in May of 2024), designed specifically to bridge the gap between the label’s heritage sandal DNA and the demand for more city-focused styles. 

The Birkenstock Shinjuku Sandals are available now for $97, and will likely sell out fast, as Birkenstock deals tend to do.
