This 62-Year-Old Hollywood Legend Isn’t Going To Put up With Your Disrespect

Russell Crowe was one of the biggest actors of the early 21st century. Apparently, he still maintains a large enough fan following that he attracts throngs of anxious fans when he's traveling overseas.

Crowe was in Paris a few days ago and was surrounded by a large group of folks wanting autographs. The Gladiator actor made it very clear that he wasn't going to be taken advantage of.

"Are you listening? Stay where you are. Don't f****** push in on me. I'll come to you . . . As soon as somebody's a dick, I'm gone. You got me?"

The above video of the interaction got over 7 million impressions on X, but Crowe addressed the clip and didn't understand why any of it made the news.

"Clickbait. Everybody got their autograph and selfie, the passage to the hotel was kept free for guests, and I still got to the airport on time. One man, no security. Handled. What’s your problem ?"

The whole situation seems like it was handled well by both Crowe and his fans. He firmly created a boundary between himself and his fans, and in the clips shown online, it looks like the people in the crowd listened to him and waited patiently for their autographs.

Celebrity worship is hard on both fans and the person being worshipped. Remember, actors are people, too. They make great movies and shows, but they don't need to be the central figure in anybody's life. At the same time, celebrities should appreciate the folks who support them, which Crowe reasonably did from a distance.

Crowe had one of the best runs in Hollywood history between 1997 and 2003, starring in films such as L.A. Confidential, The Insider, Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for Gladiator.

His most famous recent portrayal is of Zeus in Thor: Love and Thunder in 2022.
