This 2025 Platforming Game Just Got Voted ‘Best Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive’ by Fans

With the Switch 2 being out for one year now, many publications were looking back at the first 12 months of the console's life, including how the system's library stacks up. Despite some complaints about game's Switch 2 has a good portion of exclusive titles published by Nintendo, and one in particular is a must-play.

Nintendo Life published a list of the best games on the console so far as voted by users on the site, and Donkey Kong Bananza came out on top amongst games that are exclusive to the console. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and Resident Evil Requiem scored higher, but those are third-party titles. It's definitely awesome that Nintendo fans are finally gaining access to those types of games, as well.

Here's what the site said about DK's latest and greatest adventure.

"Donkey Kong Bananza is an almighty reintroduction to the world of 3D platforming for DK, and arguably the Switch 2's first absolute must-play. The punching and crashing is a passing novelty that, once you get your fill, quickly becomes just another way of exploring the wonderfully varied and beautifully presented layers."

"Whether it's smashing through the scenery with a Bananza Transformation or carefully planning a route to a hidden Banandium Gem, you'll have trouble finding more originality and, crucially, more enjoyment from a platformer in recent years. As the DK Rap so wisely said, "Donkey Kong is here." Now let's just hope he stays."

Donkey Kong is one of the forgotten mascots in Nintendo's lore. He's the oldest character they have, but the company sidelines him for Mario and Link and Kirby more often than not. Having DK get the top spot in the first year of the Switch 2's existance has been a huge boon for this legacy.

If you want even more Donkey Kong, the company just released Donkey Kong 64, one of the classic '90s games everyone should experience, on the Nintendo Switch Online service.
