Why We Love This Deal

This year's Amazon Prime Day sale featured the same old things, for the most part: DeWalt power tools, affordable sunglasses, a selection of cool watches, and so on. But, unlike the previous year, it was also filled with awesome running shoes from Asics. It came as a shock because the brand has really held its sale pricing in check (small, firm discounts) since about 2024, but one deal on a super plush Asics shoe nearly made me spit out my breakfast. And, although the sale is over, it's still ringing up for over half off, which is the largest discount we've seen on a pair of Asics in years.

The Asics Glideride Max is still on sale for just $80, a huge 53% discount from its normal price of $170. Finding any pair of Asics shoes with a discount above 30%, let alone over half off, is uncommon. Amazon’s current price easily beats the prices at other retailers, including Dick’s Sporting Goods and Fleet Feet. Shoe pricing usually varies by colorway and size on Amazon, but the Glideride is available for $80 in at least one colorway from sizes 8 up to 12, including half sizes.
