Rebel Wolves Likely Already Working on Sequel to The Blood of Dawnwalker

When your first game sells over 1 million copies in less than a week and is met with solid reviews, you might be inclined to take a moment and enjoy the fruits of your labor. That is not the case for developer Rebel Wolves. This comes from the studio’s narrative director Jakub Szamalek, on LinkedIn in a post where he is looking for people to apply to the studio to help shape what comes next after The Blood of Dawnwalker.

“”Hey writers! Me again.

The Blood of Dawnwalker released to critical acclaim and sold over one million copies in the opening weekend. But! We’re not resting on our laurels – no, siree! We’re already thinking about comes next.

And so! Drum roll please! I’m looking for a Lead Writer to help me and the narrative team craft the next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga.

We’re looking for someone who, to put it bluntly, writes EXCEPTIONALLY well, has a track record of excellence and experience in team management. If you meet these criteria – please apply via the link below! “

While this doesn’t mean that the studio is officially working on a sequel to The Dawn of Bloodwalker, based on the aforementioned sales and critical acclaim, it is not unreasonable to assume that this will be what they work on next. Once you have the gaming public’s attention, it’s hard to let it go by immediately starting on an original title.

Rebel Wolves was founded by veterans of CD Projekt Red, including Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who directed The Witcher 3. Even if you were unaware of the founding members, if you have played both games, you would be able to tell that there is a lot of shared DNA. From menu UI to combat and abilities, it is easy to see how The Blood of Dawnwalker iterated on the already incredibly successful Witcher series.

What’s perhaps most impressive about the studio is how long it took to get their first game out the door. The studio was founded in 2022 and has already released its first game. Compare that to more established studios that take a year to decades between series entries, like Naughty Dog, Rockstar Games, or Bethesda. That kind of work ethic is why they are already starting a potential sequel and why the first game was so well received in the first place.
