Spy Novel, Co-Written by WWE Legend, Set for Fall 2026 Release

What do WWE and international espionage have in common? CJ Perry. 

The wrestling veteran is stepping into the literary world with a new spy novel co-written by her and Blake Northcott, a bestselling author known for Arena Mode and The North Valley Grimoire. Their spy thriller, titled Bulletproof Angel, will follow the story of a young CIA operative named Reagan Ashe as she ventures out on her first undercover assignment in Russia. Ashe poses as the girlfriend of a mafia boss, tasked with stopping a dangerous multi-billion dollar arms deal.

“When a firefight erupts, the code to unlock a superweapon known as the ‘Skeleton Key’ is destroyed, but not before Reagan uses her photographic memory to capture every line,” the book’s description reads. “With her cover blown, Reagan is hunted through Moscow’s icy streets: no backup, no exit strategy, nowhere to hide…and the world’s deadliest weapon trapped in her mind.

“Disavowed and left for dead, her time is running out, until a legendary spy comes out of retirement for an unauthorized extraction: a woman she hasn’t spoken to in years . . . her mother, Bex. Published by BenBella Books, Bulletproof Angel will be released on Nov. 10, 2026. The title is available now for pre-order through retailers like Target, Amazon, and BenBella itself.

Within the wrestling world, Perry is known as a manager and in-ring talent, formerly performing under the name Lana. In April 2025, she inked a WWE Legends deal, which corresponded with a two-year WWE contract signed by her husband Miroslav “Rusev” Barnyashev. Rusev currently wrestles for the WWE Raw brand.
